about

PERTH, AUSTRALIA

Over the past 8 years Australian Skate-Punk band The Decline have become a recognisable name in the international punk community. After the release of their sophomore album “Are You Going To Eat That” in 2011, the band’s Australian and International fan base grew significantly and they enjoyed 3 national headline tours, a 4 week headlining tour of Europe, a Japanese tour with Israeli pop-punkers Useless ID and So-Cal 90′s super band Implants as well as one more Australian tour with Useless ID. Currently, the band are spending time working on new material at home in Perth, Western Australia, and are planning another release with Adelaide based Punk/Hardcore label legends Pee Records in mid 2014. The Decline played their first show on the 17th of July 2006, and have been writing and playing relentlessly ever since. Since their formation, some highlights of their time as a band include flying to Colorado in 2009 to record their debut album “I’m Not Going To Lie To You” at The Blasting Room with Bill Stevenson (Descendents/Black Flag/ ALL) and Jason Livermore, completing 8 Australian Tours, as well as touring Europe and Japan, signing to Pee Records in 2011, having their material licensed in Japan through Bells On Records and being nominated for the WAMi “Punk Act of the Year” award in 2013. The Decline have also been lucky enough to share the stage with many of their favourite bands including Descendents, Unwritten Law, Frenzal Rhomb, Bodyjar, Bouncing Souls, Anti-Flag, Lagwagon, No Use For A Name, No Fun At All, Guttermouth, Strike Anywhere, Smoke Or Fire, Pour Habit, The Flatliners, 28 Days, Nicola Sarcevic (Millencolin), Dan Potthast, The Story So Far, Break Even and Hyperfest 2010. The Decline have impressed many melodic punk fans with their fast-paced and energetic style, heartfelt lyrics and humorous imagery. The band will be hitting the studio to pump out some new material very soon.
