The members of Alex the Kid grew up in Geraldton together and later moved to Perth. They soon bonded as friends and professional associates with a collective interest in fine Coolabah wines and dining in fancy restaurants that serve meals beginning with 'Mc'. Many years ago, in the simpler times of 2011, the ex-Gero folk forged an alliance known as "Alex The Kid", coming from the Latin phrase "Alexandrous Teh Kiddinanous" meaning "stinky meat beaters". With this newly forged alliance they began writing some music, and eventually kicked off their career as musical turds in a home-town show as a part of the messed up tour, and later played again in Perth, Albany and Bunbury. When they aren't writing their own biography in third person they often spend their time playing music and drinking beers. Dale Baruckus Obama later joined the band and they recorded and released 6 track EP entitled Awkward Timing at Bergerk! Recording Studios

Follow up EP 'Friends with Hangovers' was released in April 2013. Both EPs in their entirety can be listened to and downloaded here:
